Today, 22 May 2015, at 10 a. m. the A. Kasteev State Museum of Arts launches festivities to celebrate the International Museum Day.
Events programme includes the following events:
From 10:00 a. m. to 11:00 p. m. — "Become a Part of a Picture!"— interactive taking pictures with banners depicting masterpieces of the museum collection in the background.
From 10:00 a. m. to 11:30 a. m. and from 3:30 p. m. to 5:00 p. m. — interactive plein air in the "Park of Culture". All those wishing can participate in it. Each work will be a part of an exhibition entitled "The Museum through the Eyes of Visitors". The best works will win awards.
From 11:00 a. m. to 2:00 p. m. — concert programme of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan.
12:00 a. m. and 1:00 p. m. — master classes on painting and drawing. The artists are Yuriy Tarler (New York) and Alexander Kravchuk (Saint-Petersburg).
2:00 p. m. — art-fashion show with participation of the Almaty Technological University.
5:00 p. m. — opening ceremony of the exhibition — plein air "The Museum through the Eyes of Visitors" and award ceremony of the competition "Find a Copy at the Museum".
11:00 p. m. — concert of the legendary ethnic musical group "Bugarabu". The soloist is unsurpassed Venera Urazbekova. There is also a fairy dance show "American Tribal Style" by the Tribal Pro dance group.
11:30 p. m. — award ceremony of the quest "The Museum Triangle".
12:00 p. m. — unforgettable fire show by unsurpassed Anna Starchak.
All the day, the museum organises free excursions and lectures.
The Art Campaign "Find a Copy at the Museum"
The Art Campaign "Find a Copy at the Museum" is a particular surprise for visitors of the museum. It is organised there for the first time. The week before the celebrations one picture, that is not an original work of an artist, was exhibited at the museum. Visitors are offered to find this picture among other exhibits. Everyone can write down his/her assumptions in the special notebook. Today the winners will obtains commemorative gifts. The award ceremony starts at 5:00 p. m.
The festivities at the House Museum of Abylkhan Kasteev (6-A Bekkhozhin Street, Almaty):
excursion at the memorial House Museum of Abylkhan Kasteev. The excursion is conducted by the daughter of the artist. Autobus departures from the A. Kasteev State Museum of Arts at 2:00 p. m.
The celebrations at the Central Exhibition Hall (137 Zheltoksan Street, Almaty):
5:00 p. m. — opening ceremony of the exhibition "The Secrets of Ancient Egypt" that was organised with the participation of the Egyptian Cultural Centre.
All the day, admission to the museum is free!
