Not a Silk Road Book by Sergey Plekhanov, a famous Russian writer, was presented in Moscow on 20 May 2015

According to the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Moscow, Not a Silk Road Book by Sergey Plekhanov is devoted the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. The book launch new series of books entitled "World Leaders".

The book represents the life story of Kazakhstan leader, his development as a greatest world politician. It is also a story of independent prosperous country, outstanding personal contribution to the strengthening of international security and establishment of the international order.

The fact that the work took Sergey Plekhanov fifteen years and included travelling to the country, visiting places where Nursultan Nazarbayev spent his childhood and youth, talking to his relatives, assistants and colleagues is particularly valuable. It is noteworthy that the author of the book met several times with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The result of many years of work is a deep and non-trivial look at the personality of the man and politician with the unyielding will, inexhaustible creative energy, tremendous courage and rare strategic foresight. That was the assessment of the book given by participants of the presentation.

In his opening remarks Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that after the collapse of the Soviet Union Nursultan Nazarbayev assumed full responsibility for the nation and proposed well-thought-out strategy that has provided peace and harmony in Kazakhstan and established a basis for the effective economy.

"It is very interesting and instructive for current and aspiring politicians to see how various obstacles on this way were overcome thanks to the only one reason: whatever Nursultan Nazarbayev did he always thought about the people," Sergey Lavrov said.

Marat Tazhin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation, emphasised in his speech that "The time call upon a new kind of leader: firstly, he is able to put forward large-scale strategic programmes, secondly, he can motivate the national elite for accomplishing the goals, thirdly, he pursues extremely balanced policy regarding religious, confessional, ethnic and regional challenges to security."

Polad Byulbulogly, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Russia noted that Kazakhstan is very fortunate to have such leader. Kazakhstan has avoided many conflicts and problems that affected other post-Soviet countries. And it was made possible by the fact that Nursultan Nazarbayev ruled the country with a steady hand.

The Director of the Culture, Education and Social Programmes Fund, Kanat Saudabayev expressed the gratitude to those who created this book "There are so many books about Nazarbayev, but Not a Silk Road differs in sharp sincerity, historical accuracy and personal involvement of the author in the real way that Nursultan Nazarbayev passed from the sun of ordinary shepherd to the world leader."

The presentation was also attended by many prominent politicians and businessmen, famous figures of literature and art, diplomats, representatives of scientific and academic communities.
