The “Olzhabay Batyr - Yel Kakharmany” scientific and practical conference devoted to the 300th birthday of the famous Kazakh warrior of the 18th century, one of the leaders of the national liberation movement of the Kazakh people Olzhabay Tolybayuly was held at PSU on October 25, 2013.
Vice-rector for Research and Innovation of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Nurlan Yerzhanov noted in his opening speech that the idea of national unity, state independence and territorial integrity of Kazakhstan is inseparably linked with the name of Olzhabay Batyr.
Some of the honorable guests of this event made reports during the Conference, namely, Head of the Department of Journalism, Doctor of Historical Sciences, HCC Professor Kyrykbay Aldabergenov, Doctor of Philological Sciences, PSU Professor Aytmukhamet Turyshev, descendant of Olzhabay Batyr Myrzakarim Khakanov, Associate Professor of the Department of Archeology, Ethnology and National History of Ye.A. Buketov KarSU, Candidate of Historical Sciences Arna Mukanova.
The conference addressed theoretical and practical problems of studying the national liberation movement of the Kazakh people, new approaches to historical research in the context of the People in the Flow of History national program, as well as the cultural values of the Kazakh literature.
“This scientific and practical conference is a tribute to a legendary hero, great defender of the Kazakh people. And it is a great honor for our University to host this event”, said Nurlan Yerzhanov.
