In Astana, in the National Academic library of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held a presentation of the multi-volume edition «Kazynaly Ontustik» published on the initiative of akimat of South Kazakhstan region.
The first volume was published in 2010. Today 311 volumes of 500 planned were published in the series «Nurly alem» in Almaty publishing house. The following volumes of the publication are devoted to topics such as «Cultural-historical monuments of South Kazakhstan region», «Nature of South Kazakhstan region», «A.Yassaui’s Mausoleum», «Economy of South Kazakhstan region» and many others.
Chairman of the editorial board of the multi-volume edition, Doctor of Philology, professor Mekemtas Myrzakhmetov emphasized that this project is coincided with the ideas of the Head of the State about creation of «Mangilik El» («Eternal Nation») and international positioning of Kazakhstan as a Country of the Great Steppe.
«The main purpose of the edition is popularization of history and culture, policy and economy of South Kazakhstan region,-he said.
—According to the experience of Chinese authors and publishers, such series about cultural achievements of a particular region are published for the first time in South Kazakhstan. Many materials of the collection were published as books for the first time and this unique labor is more expensive than gold. Gold can be found, dug out and this valuable data in the multi-volume edition could not be republished again if we lose it-professor noted. To find and publish such materials became possible only with the proclamation of independence of Kazakhstan and within the framework of the national program „Cultural heritage“. Mekemtas Myrzakhmetov also noted that the retrieval of the materials from the publishing stocks and archives of other countries is a very labor-intensive and expensive process.»
However, thanks to the support of the akimat of South Kazakhstan region this work was done. The multi-volume edition «Kazynaly Ontustik» includes the following themes: «Cultural-historical monuments of South Kazakhstan region», «Nature of South Kazakhstan region», «A.Yassaui’s Mausoleum», «Economy of South Kazakhstan region» and others. For instance, previously unpublished tales of renowned folklorist A.Divayev and former teacher of seminary in Tashkent Ya.Lyusht were collected in the second edition. The works of young word artists are collected too. Famous Kazakhstan’s scientists, writers, philologists, historians, members of the editorial board, publishers and authors took participation in a presentation which was held in the framework of celebration of the 550th anniversary of Kazakh Khanate.
