May 3, 1994, in Almaty was the first international symposium on "Music of the Turkic people" with series of concerts of traditional music (which was recorded by Japanese TV station). After this Festival it was hosted next subsequent years - 1995, 1996,1997,1998, 2000, 2001 and 2002. All these festivals were organized by the rector of Alma-Ata Conservatory named after Kurmangazy D. Kaysenov, assistants and inspirers were Kazakh ethnomusicologist. Since 1997, the festivals took place under the patronage of Ministry of Culture and Information. Thanks to these events was formed the main- audience who had a taste of real music and youth - musicians who began to feel proud of the fact that they belong to the great culture.
