On August 20 a solemn opening of stele “The battle of Bulanty” in Ulytau district of Karaganda region was held.
This year goes under the sign of some important dates in the country — the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, the 20th anniversary of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of RK and the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh khanate. Ulytau district — a geographical center of Kazakhstan, the hearth of nomadic culture, the place of union of three zhuzes, a land, steeped in fables and legends, met numerous guests. Celebrations in honor of the 550th celebration of the Kazakh khanate started there.
It is noteworthy that the 75th anniversary of formation of the region was widely celebrated last year. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev gave interview to “Khabar” agency, recorded at the foothill of Ulytau: “We do a lot in order to know our history. One of the former witnesses is Ulytau. Everyone should know this land.” That was the reason why the President gave his interview on the results of the trip to Zhezkazgan region in August 2014, devoted to the most urgent issues of today in the picturesque places, which are the keepers of the evidence of our rich history.
Consequently, the solemn opening of the stele “The battle of Bulanty” was held in the framework of this celebration in honor of the 550th celebration of the Kazakh khanate in Ulytau district of Karaganda region. Scientists described the first major victory over the Dzungars by the river Bulanty in Ulytau district as one of the brightest pages in the history of Kazakh people. As the President Nursultan Nazarbayev noted, the battle near Bulanty has the same importance as the battle of Poltava for Russian people. It is necessary for young people to know about this fact and to learn to be patriots of own country by the example of heroic past.
Stele “The battle of Bulanty” is located at the place, where the battle took place. It is not far from the village Baikonur. The monument “Uitas kumbezi” is also located there. It was established in 1727 after enemy expulsion. Academician Alkey Margulan confirmed this fact after archaeological works. Grateful descendants will always remember the heroic feat of the defenders of the Fatherland. Kanzhygaly kart Bogenbay was Commander-in-Chief in the battle. Karakerey Kabanbay, Shapyrashty Nauryzbay, Shakshak Zhanibek, Khangeldyuly Raiymbek and other brave, right guide detachment commanders distinguished in the battle. As a result, Kazakh people stroke Dzungars at the foothill of Ulytau in Karasiyr district, in inter-stream Bulanty-Beleuty. This canton is called Kalmakkyrylgan — the place of extirpation of the Kalmyks.
All-Kazakh gatherings, where Tole bi, Kazybek bi and Aiteke bi took measures on formation of national militia, the united front of defense played a decisive role in repulse of the act of aggression. A memorial sign was established on the mountain Kalmakkyrylgan, at the end of the last century. The representatives of Kazakh spread across the steppe vowed to be united forever. They jointly chose supreme Sardar-leader — Abulkhair — khan. Fearless people’s defenders — Bogenbay, Kabanbay, Zhanibek, Nauryzbay, Rayimbek, Eset and others followed this call. In short, the victory at Bulanty had a great value. It gave opportunity to Kazakh warriors to believe in own power, to make turnaround in people’s minds and contributed to further strengthening of the unity.
