A video panoramic exposition “Broken Hearth” will take place from 3 to 15 of February in the museum memorial complex of victims of political repressions and totalitarianism ALZHIR. This was reported to astana.kz in ALZHIR museum.

The exposition tells about families cruelly separated by mess repressions of the 1930s, when large-scale terror covered the whole country starting in 1937. In 1937-1938 repressions involved dozens of thousands of people, and many of them were shot. People dreaming of their nation’s prosperity, honestly working for the good of their country, were called “public enemies”, accused of betrayal of the Motherland and convinced to supreme penalty. Among them there is Torebek Osmanov, Shakir Diveev, Sultanbek Khodjanov, Nygmet Nurmakov, Turar Ryskulov, Zhanaidar Sadvokasov, Mutalap Akhmetov, Suleimen Eskarayev. In addition, their wives were sent to ALZHIR (a Russian acronym for the Akmolinskii Camp for Wives of Traitors of the Motherland) for 5-8 years as the member of families of traitors of the Motherland. Their children were deprived of mother love and father protection. Lawlessness, which made thousands of families suffer, became great terror for the whole country.

The exhibition represents materials stored in ALZHIR museum funds.

Let us recall that the panoramic exposition “Broken Hearth” will take place from 3 to 15 of February in “Alash” Hall.
