The memorial house of M. Auezov has received an award named after Chingiz Aitmatov.
The award was given for an outstanding contribution to the dissemination of the spiritual heritage of Chingiz Aitmatov to the world, reported the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The third award ceremony was held in London on
December, 12, in honor of the 85th anniversary of the famous writer, reports
BNews.kz.

A well-known Kyrgyz director Bolot Shamshiev, an
expert on Central Asia at the School of Oriental and African Studies (School of
Oriental and African Studies) of the University of London - Shirin Akiner, founder
of the magazine «Open Central Asia» - Niku Rowan, the President of the American
University in Central Asia - Andrew Wachtel, have also become the laureates of
an award.
The short clips from the movie “White Steamer” and
“The First Teacher” were shown to the guests during the event.
Recall, that the award named after Chingiz Aitmanov
was established in 2011. The prize is awarded by the Academy of Aitmatov, which
was founded in London.
