Scientists generalize results

A joint project of Pavlodar and Russian scientist on archeological and ecological research in the region had been completed.

International scientific expedition to the region within the framework of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan «State Nature Reserve «Irtysh River floodplain: current status and forecasts», performed on the basis of scientific center of biocenology and environmental research of Pavlodar State Pedagogical Institute (PSPI), was fruitfully finished. Along with the representative of the university worked the researchers of the Institute of Ecology and Evolution named after A. Severetsov, Russian Academy of Science, Moscow State Pedagogical University, Novosibirsk Institute of Systematics and Ecology of Animals and Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov.

During the month, scientists have conducted environmental studies conducted census and population dynamics of small mammals, used as bio-indicators. Samples were collected to determine the genetic diversity of species of rodents.
The received filed material will be subjected to the appropriate office processing, and laboratory analysis. Results of work will be the basis for determining the state of small mammal communities in the Irtysh River floodplain regulation of the flow conditions, and also enable the development of scientific advice on sustainable use of biological resources of the floodplain and the preservation of its biodiversity. Foundation museum complex PSPI replenished with new exhibits.
At the same time in the center of archaeological and ethnological research Pavlodar State Pedagogical Institute started its work the International Summer School «Archaeological Heritage of Saryarki».

In a joint Kazakh-Russian project take part specialists from the Omsk State University named after Dostoevsky, Altay State Pedagogical Academy and researchers PSPI. Archaeological School give scientists of the two countries to share their experiences, as will be lectures and workshops of famous Kazakh and Russian archaeologists. Scientists will visit the Stone Age on the lake Kudaikol, Bronze Age burial on Lake Sabyndykol and Saks necropolis.

Archaeological expedition to Beskaragay base, where he will field studies and practical exercises was planned. Results of the school will be announced at a meeting of the «round table» and «Problems of preservation of cultural heritage».
